About Bank of Ceylon Staff Thrift & Welfare Society

A member-owned savings society run for the long-term financial wellbeing of Bank of Ceylon staff.

Our Mission

Bank of Ceylon Staff Thrift & Welfare Society exists to help Bank of Ceylon employees build financial security through disciplined, low-friction monthly savings — backed by accessible member loans and a lump-sum payout on retirement, resignation, or in the event of a member's passing. We are run by members, for members, with a small permanent staff handling day-to-day administration.

How It Works

Each month, a fixed contribution is deducted directly from a member's salary and credited to their individual Contribution Account. Balances accrue over a member's career and are paid out along with accumulated interest on retirement or resignation from the bank's service. Members in good standing can also apply for a loan against their accumulated balance at preferential rates.

Membership

Membership is open to all Bank of Ceylon employees below 48 years of age. Enrolled members are issued a unique PF Number, which doubles as their login for the online member portal, where current balances, statements, and contact details can be managed at any time.

Governance

Bank of Ceylon Staff Thrift & Welfare Society is governed by an elected committee, chosen at the Annual General Meeting, which oversees the management of the fund. Committee members are drawn from serving and retired staff, and report back to the membership at large. Financial statements are made available to members through this portal.
